Anatomical pathology

Anatomical pathology studies the diagnosis of disease at the molecular level.

This work will lead to "personalised pathology" or a unique cancer "fingerprint," which enables personalised therapy. It will transform pathology testing of cancers and result in improved patient care for WA cancer patients.

Researchers: Winthrop Prof Jennet Harvey, Clin/Prof Gregory Sterrett

The team’s research involves histopathological and translational research in human cancers, particularly breast cancer, as well as population based studies in breast and colon cancer.

Histopathological prognostic and predictive factors are studied together with immunohistochemical evaluation of possible precursor lesions to breast malignancy.
