Our seminar series is a gateway to the newest and most exciting research available.
The School of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine runs two regular seminar series which feature a range of in-house and guest speakers:
The seminars are an excellent opportunity to meet the people who are leaders in their research field. In the past, seminars have been presented by visiting international researchers, such as Professor Hartmut Luecke from the University of California, and in-house researchers such as Dr Tim Perkins. Topics that have been covered include: studies of sensory neuropathy in HIV patients, the role of pathogens in respiratory disease, and Prof Fiona Wood's quest for scarless healing. PhD students’ progress reports and project proposals are additional features of the series.
The seminars are sponsored by various groups and light refreshments and snacks are usually provided. The PaLM@QEIIMC seminars start at 9:00am Friday mornings during semester in Room G14 Conference Room, Ground Floor, in M Block of the QEII Medical Centre. Seminars are also held on Level 2 of Royal Perth Hospital's Medical Research Foundation building (rear 50 Murray St, RPH adjacent).
