Clostridium difficile

Clostridium difficile is a spore-forming, anaerobic Gram positive bacterium that can cause antibiotic-associated diarrhoea.

Professor Tom Riley has been researching this organism for over 20 years. Specific areas of interest include;

  • Epidemiology of C. difficile infection
  • Toxin production by C. difficile
