Research area

Detecting kidney disease using renal biomarkers

Researcher: Assoc/Prof Kimberley Roehrig

Assoc/Prof Kimberley Roehrig spent three years as a postgraduate student developing tests to detect early signs of renal disease in patients and experimental models.

Her current work involves the investigation of urinary biomarkers that indicate severity of disease in patients requiring intensive care.

In the future, these biomarkers may be used to guide treatment interventions, monitor disease progression and predict patient outcomes.
